Support Groups

Support groups begin at 7:00 p.m. each month. Confidentiality must be maintained.

There is always a support group for NEW PARENTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY of those who have come out as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. Members who have been through this process are available for support and information, either in small groups or individually. One can also call the hotline, 303-444-8164, or e-mail to receive a call from another parent or to receive information written for parents.

CHILDREN: After several years' moratorium, there are now ten children with gay parents who will meet once a month under the guidance of Pam Levett, a local psychotherapist. The parents of these children will meet with Catie McDowell, our original kids' group facilitator, to discuss their needs and expectations for this support group on July 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the library at First United Methodist Church.

Christy Foust, the mom who revived this group for children, said, "I just want my daughter to know that she is not alone." Both Pam and Catie are volunteering their professional expertise to meet this need. If you have an interest in including your child to this group, contact Christy, 303-530-8201.

A STRAIGHT SPOUSE Network group meets as needed for persons whose spouse has come out as lesbian or gay. For information call Linda, 303-410-1713
