Here are some of the resources that I use in making my pages:
This site was originally constructed using programs running on the
OS/2 Operating System. Now all maintenance is
done with Bluefish on the Linux platform.
Some pages were done with HTML Studio for OS/2. Many others
have been done by hand with an OS/2 port of the famous (or infamous) Unix editor, vi, or with
the HTML editor, Bluefish.
Laura Lemay's
book Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML 3.2 in a Week provides both
the basic html knowledge and a guiding philosophy for my Web programming.
Selena Sol and Gunther Birznieks' book Instant Web
Scripts With CGI continues to be a rich source of information on CGI programming.
Accessibility is as much an issue on the Web as it is in "meatspace".
It makes a lot of difference how pages are programmed who can see them, just as it
makes a lot of difference how entrances to buildings are built who can get in.
If I use graphics, tables, and other features that are specific to one type of browser, I will try to provide accessible alternatives as much as possible so that no browser is excluded from my site. If you run across something that is not accessible, please let me know.
Visit the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church web site to learn about Accessible Websites.
The space for this Web site has been graciously provided by
TDE Internet, an Internet Service
Provider here in Denver. A number of
organizations
