Affirmation: United Methodists for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns

I was proud to be a part of the Affirmation presence at the General Conference here in Denver in April, 1996.

I first attended my first Affirmation meeting in Dayton, Ohio, in Spring of 1978, and returned for the Indianapolis meeting prior to the General Conference in that city. Maggie went with me to this second meeting.

We returned for many meetings over the years since, and have found a community of people who share our interest in helping the church be more fully open to God's gift of sexuality, and especially gay, lesbian, and bisexual people.
